Is Your Car Ready to Hit the Street Racing Scene…? Part IV
Alrighty then! Now that we’re done with the front and sides, we can now move on to the rear end. There are tons of accessories we can add to the sides so listen closely peeps. First we’ll be starting with the spoilers. Doesn’t sound familiar? Dour you remember how you used to laugh at cars with those big “thingies” on the back? We’ll those actually are the spoilers. Some might balk at the idea of adding spoilers to your car, as they make it look somewhat comical (think batmobile). However, they are actually really cool add-ons since they give your car this aura of speed. There are mountains upon mountains of spoiler design, colors and build-material giving you some serious creative space. For those casual custom car enthusiasts you may or may not add spoilers. However, for the serious racers, these actually are pretty crucial. Hitting breakneck speeds will cause your car to lift due to the air flow. It is the spoiler’s task to add that much needed downforce so your tires remain in contact with the ground thereby retaining maneuverability. Believe me you will thank yourself for adding spoilers once you’re in a real race. A fast car with zero handling is absolutely worth gash.
Alright moving on. The trunk lid is where your spoiler is mounted. And believe it or not you can actually customize it. You can actually have professionals convert this to carbon fiber like the hood. Hey, the more weight you reduce the faster your car goes. That’s the way it is. Converting your trunk lid not only allows you to go faster but it also makes your car look much much cooler.
Next we have the trunk itself. Alright at this point you may find yourself asking “What in god’s name can I do more for the trunk?” Well, you could change the layout. You can install a custom mold to fit your amps, subs, screens, nitrous tank, etc later on. Installing neon bulbs are also a great way to add more flair to an otherwise boring compartment. Let your imagination run wild my man.
Now that we’ve got that part covered we can move further down. As with the front and the sides, you can also add skirts to your car’s rear end. Rear skirts make your car appear lower and much more faster-looking. They also come in a variety of designs, shapes, sizes and colors. You can mix and match but it is generally advised to use the same designs for the front, sides, and rear skirts. But hey, if you find a mix and match design that works, then by all means you are free to do so.
Now we have the tail lights. Like the head lights, I’m pretty sure you’re stock tail lights are as boring as morning time talk shows. There are seldom models out there that come with great tail lights right off the assembly line. And if you’re one of the unblessed few, well you can breathe easy since there are a lot of aftermarket tail lights available for your purchase. Choose the design, color and style to match your taste and budget.
Mufflers give your car its voice. The boom baby, yeah! For me hearing a race car’s roar is a very orgasmic happening. It sends shivers down my spine and fear down your rival’s. Again, there are a lot of designs for you to work with so choose and mod to your hearts content.
Well my friends, we’ve completed the exterior. You should be looking at an amazing piece of automotive candy right about now. We can now proceed to the performance part since what’s a car that’s all show right? We’ll be giving your car all the power it needs to go with its look so keep watching.
